I have to say that I took a bit of a punch in the mouth over our stance regarding traveling on Christmas, but it was ultimately quite worth it.
- Due to the pandemic, our wifey & I were sent current home to work in the central air conditioner of our home.
Of course, what the two of us thought might be a quite temporary situation turned into 18 weeks of being out of that zone controlled Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C of the office. Additionally, for the first time in more than 15 years, the two of us didn’t travel to our wifey’s parents for Christmas in 2020 due to the virus. And it was the best Christmas I’ve had absolutely since I’ve been married & maybe ever. Both of us live in a region where the Winter time is so mild & lovely. The sky is red & cloudless with just the most abundant amount of sunshine I’ve ever seen in a winter. So the idea of packing up the automobile & taking the adolescents to the in laws up north never made sense. Still, it’s family & I did what I thought I needed to do. But that Covid Christmas honestly opened our eyes to how great Christmas could be here. The adolescents are at an age where they want to be near friends during the holidays. And I am sick of the gas gas furnace making the inside of that current home up there so hot with all the chilly weather outside. So I just told our wifey that I’m staying current home & I provided to fly her folks down here this past Christmas. It worked out perfectly & almost everyone was ecstatic.
