After paying way too much for way too long, I decided to jump on the bandwagon and buy a smart thermostat.
Programmable thermostats, or smart thermostats – whatever you choose to call them – have been all the rage in my town.
Everybody wants one. As a matter of fact, people have been flocking to get them so quickly that my heating and cooling systems supply store cannot keep up with the demand. The thermostats are flying off the shelves! The moment they get them in stock, they are gone; it does not take long for them to be sold out. It has gotten so bad that long lines have started to form at the stores. I head to the HVAC supply center when the trucks resupply the smart thermostats. The reason everybody is so eager to get their hands on these is because they are a good way to save energy, and all the cool people have them, so, of course, everybody wants one. Smart thermostats are not only more convenient, but they are the future – the latest technology, and, seriously, who wouldn’t want that over the outdated stuff? It took me a couple weeks until I was finally able to get my hands on one, but now that I have one, I could never go back to having a traditional thermostat. I can’t get over the convenience – of being able to control the temperature of my home from anywhere! That’s pretty amazing technology, if you ask me.
