Window movie due to cable glare

I have a gorgeous winding staircase with windows that surround it… I paid extra to have windows that go all the way up to the ninth story ceiling, then the windows supply quite a bit of natural light and make the apartment assume larger.

It is entirely our number 1 feature in the house.

The snag is that while we were in the summertime the windows let in quite a bit of light. I don’t worry about high energy bills or fabric wearing out since I have granite floors and I live in the north. The concern with the sun is glare, but my kids appreciate to watch cable right when the sun is across it. It creates quite an weird picture. My kids have found a solution. They take old couch cushions and block the sun in the windows. The concern is that then they leave the ugly cushions for myself and others to put away. My husband has now caught on and started doing it. I don’t want ugly cushions blocking our pretty windows. I can’t seem to get them to watch cable at a weird time either. I have started looking into decorative window movies that fight against glare in the house. I don’t want a window tint that affects the look from the outside. I don’t want frosted glass, rainwater or fogged glass appearance either. I just want a movie that is barely noticeable to the trained eye but stops glare in the house. I suppose I found a window movie service and tinting supplier that has such a product. I am annoyed that I need to buy it in the first locale.
