I was so happy when I became a homeowner.
The house had a relatively new HVAC system and everything.
I don’t know why but I thought because it was so new, it didn’t really require any HVAC maintenance. I would only change the air filters and I wouldn’t always change them on time. My friends and family always told me that I should have an HVAC professional come out to make sure my HVAC system was doing alright. I just shrugged and said my HVAC was fine and I was taking care of it. I really wasn’t taking care of it though, I was actually letting it become destroyed by not having regular tune-ups and maintenance. Eventually, the HVAC system quit working in the middle of the summer. The system was actually smoking and the HVAC unit was hot to the touch. When I finally had the HVAC professionals come check everything, they said this HVAC was the most neglected system they have ever seen. They said the air filter was dirty and there were a few severely worn parts. They said if those were replaced on time, the system would have been okay. But unfortunately the system overheated and was beyond repair. I found it hard to believe and even got advice from another HVAC expert, and he said the same thing, the HVAC system was shot. So I had to empty my savings account just to have a new HVAC installed, and I was terribly upset about it. I honestly should have listened to the advice of the people who cared in my life, but I had to be stubborn about everything. I could have saved myself a lot of money by taking better care of my HVAC equipment.
