I had to do something with my life or I was going to go crazy.
It had been a year since I split with my partner.
It was a bad breakup which left me feeling depressed and angry. My sister had come to my rescue and got me and my baby out. It took all my courage not to think about the loss and start my life over. But, now that I was finally dealing with my issues, I felt stuck with nothing much to do. My baby was in school and my sister worked full time which left me at home with not much to do. I went to the shops one afternoon to get some groceries and saw a sign advertising a position for a cashier. That was how I got a job in the shop much to my sister’s happiness. The shop was busy since it was summer and everyone was glad to escape the heat given that we had a working cooling system. The cooling unit would work overtime to keep the space comfortable all day every day. One day, as we were busy serving people in the afternoon, it simply shut down. I noticed the cooling system was off and phoned the shop owner to let him know. He spoke to an area independent HVAC professional who took a look at the unit and said it was better to replace it. Apparently the cooling system had been in the shop for more than a decade. I was happy the shop owner didn’t take long to purchase a new cooling unit and have it installed. The entire process took 4 days to complete which I found quite efficient.
