Clare was determined to finish some work at the store before heading home.
She knew it would be impossible to come back during the weekend.
Her mom and sister were coming for a visit which meant lots of other activities. Clare hadn’t seen her baby sister in a year and wanted to give her a fantastic treat for her birthday. She worked until 9 pm and was finally so exhausted that her eyes could barely stay open. The good news is she had finished a huge part and the few final touches weren’t too time consuming. It was chilly when she closed up and went to her car so she made a mental note to turn on the heat pump when she went home. Knowing her mom, the heat pump would be on all weekend since there seemed to be a cold snap in the air. Clare did turn on the heat pump when she got home and went straight to bed. However, the unit wasn’t working when she woke up the next day. The house wasn’t too cold but Clare was now worried about the faulty heat pump. She called her neighbor who is also an owner of an HVAC business for assistance. He came by as he was leaving for work and noticed the heat pump was frozen. Clare had never dealt with a frozen heat pump. The HVAC business owner explained that he had to let the unit thaw out before he could come and inspect the issue. Meanwhile, Clare was to leave the unit as is and not allow anyone to turn it on at any time.
