I have been looking into getting heated flooring for my home. The pros are just too vast to ignore; First, since the heating system is either with overheated water or electric, there is no air being blown. That means the sound of the Heating & Air Conditioning system turning off plus blowing out of the vents no longer happens. It is a quiet system. Additionally, there is no air that is polluted plus ruining your air conditions. No ductwork is needed to transfer the heat plus that means no ductwork sealing appointments. Another benefit is that with radiant heating, all the floor is evenly heated. With forced air systems it is easy to have overheated plus cold spots. The heat naturally rises plus gets wasted on the ceiling too. The electric or overheated water stays right at the flooring level plus heats every cement that it is installed into; Since the heat stays right at your flooring level, everyone lower their thermostats since they naturally believe warmer. The heat is just that much better. Radiant heat warms objects touching it too, then your couch, chairs plus bed will all believe heated as a result. Have young children crawling around or pets? They will appreciate this heating system too. I have looked into the cost of this heating substitute plus it is surprisingly sufficient compared to most gas furnaces I am used to. The lifespan is around 10-15 years as well. That is quite a chunk of time for that system. The only con is the upgrade is quite invasive plus the radiant flooring does build up the floor plus add weight to the house.
